The Ronald McDonald House provides a home for parents of hospitalized children. Parents, brothers, and sisters can stay at the Ronald McDonald House, located just a stone’s throw from the hospital, so they can visit the sick child every day to provide comfort and love during difficult times.
The Ronald McDonald Children’s Fund aims to make a positive contribution to the health of children and the well-being of families with a long-term ill child. Therefore, the Children’s Fund develops, supports, and operates facilities that concretely contribute to the well-being of sick children and their families.
The Ronald McDonald House provides a home for parents of children hospitalized at UZ Brussel. Parents, brothers, and sisters can stay at the Ronald McDonald House, located just a stone’s throw from the hospital, so they can visit their sick child every day to provide comfort and love during difficult times.
The Ronald McDonald House is fully equipped and features ten guest rooms with private bathrooms. The living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, library, play area, and two patios are shared with other parents.
The House ensures that children, together with their parents, brothers, or sisters, can briefly escape the medical environment and recharge in a warm place just a minute and a half from the UZ hospital.

Sick children feel better when their parents and siblings are nearby. Parents are better able to cope with the demands of caregiving when they have a place to rest close to their sick or high-needs child. But they have to commute back and forth between home and the hospital a lot.
